Verification is a costly and nerve-wracking experience for any BEE compliant organisation. The process of BEE Verification was enacted by the Department of Trade and Industry (dti)  to ensure BEE compliance by assessing, verifying and validating the BEE Score awarded to a Measured Entity as a result of the information they submitted regarding applicable elements of the BEE scorecard.

The process is also meant to evaluate the Measured Entity’s BEE transactions to provide an indicative score and certificate as per the BEE Codes of Good Practice.

At first glance the process seems quite straightforward, I mean it’s just three simple steps:

  • BEE Planning and completion of documentation
  • Gathering evidence that speaks to all elements of your scorecard
  • Verifying the evidence and calculating the final score

Right?

Wrong.

A number of things can go wrong, and one can easily lose out on points, drop a BEE level or instantly become non-compliant and have the burden of starting over. Not to mention you’ve also lost a lot of money.

This is where BEE Verification Management comes in. BEE Verification Management is normally handled by a BEE consultant and finding the right consultant is key. In fact, according to a trusted BEE Verification Agency, about 80%-90% of their clients approach them with a BEE Consultant. Unfortunately, only 20% are happy with the services of their chosen consultant.

NPI Governance Consulting takes care of three key areas in the verification process i.e. Engagement with the Verification Agency, Compiling the BEE Verification file as well as post verification assistance.

Let’s break this down a bit more:

  1. Engagement with your SANAS Accredited BEE Verification Agency

Every company has its own way of doing things. The same goes for BEE Verification Agencies. We help you understand the processes entailed in the verification agency you’re working with, to ensure that you understand exactly what is required from you for a smooth verification.

  1. The BEE Verification File

This is a crucial step. In sourcing, verifying and putting together your documents, we can ensure that the information being prepared for submission is absolutely accurate. A lot of the time companies include irrelevant documents thereby, lengthening the process and leaving lots of room for misinterpretation.

  1. Post Verification Assessment

Were there any interpretation issues that could have affected your score? We help you understand and get to the bottom of all that to secure the desired compliance level for your organisation.

Intricate details are involved in the verification process and you need a consultant who understands your needs and can ethically advise you throughout the process. Click here to learn more about NPI’s BEE Verification Management services.
