The challenge

One of the main aims of the government through its B-BBEE policy is to assist in the development of the operational and financial capacity of B-BBEE enterprises – particularly small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) and black- owned enterprises. Through its Business Equity Value (BEV) solutions, NPI Governance Consulting embarked on fine tuning this element for Coca-Cola Southern Africa. We channelled their existing projects that model the ideals of a long-term and sustainable Enterprise and Supplier Development plan. Good Noise Productions, provided a novel approach to integrating the company’s ESD objectives into their ongoing media initiatives.

The solution

  • ESD implementation strategy development.
  • Graduation of the Good Noise entity into Coca-Cola Southern Africa’s B-BBEE value chain

The result

By evaluating Coca-Cola Southern Africa’s operating ecosystem, NPI rationalised an immediately realisable supplier development initiative in line with the B-BBEE Codes and relevant to their current verification period.  Over the medium to longer term, NPI’s strategic procurement advisory would be tailored to the diverse procurement requirements, drawing from current best practice business models and ultimately merging a lean approach to B-BBEE value creation with business continuity.
