South Africa’s Magnificent win over England

South Africa and England have been playing each other in Test Rugby since 1906. The game held at Ellis Park Saturday 9th June marked the 39th Test match between the two national teams and NPI Governance Consulting was there to soak it all in, with the best view of the field. This was the 24th game in the test matches won by South Africa who are 13 wins ahead of England at this point with only 2 draws in 1906 and 2012.

The beginning of the first-half was a bit tense as the Boks struggled against England, with points starting at 3-24 to England.  The Boks remained calm and returned to the field to deliver one of the greatest comebacks ever seen, with four tries in 19 minutes through scrumhalf, Faf de Klerk (man of the match), Sbu Nkosi and Willie Le Roux. England fought back in the second-half of the game but the Springboks didn’t quite let them catch up, scoring a fifth try through Aphiwe Dyantyi. England fought to catch up but unfortunately ran out of time with the match closing at 42-39 to the Springboks.

NPI was impeccably hosted by Three Bean Hospitality, who provided safe transportation, a lovely 3-course lunch, a speech and signed Rugby balls by legendary Springboks commentator, Hugh Bladen, and amazing seats for our team. To them, we’d like to say thank you for a great experience.
