JOHANNESBURG, 3rd June 2019– NPI Governance Consulting is proud to announce the launch of its inaugural SMME Funding in South Africa Report 2018/2019 on Monday 3rd June 2019. The SMME Funding in South Africa Report provides a comprehensive and timely review of financial markets for smaller businesses at a moment of great significance for the South African economy. The report comes a few days after the appointment of the Minister of Small Business Development, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni and just over a month after the company released their 25 Years of Nation Building to Transformation Report, detailing South Africa’s transformation journey through B-BBEE
Small, Medium and Micro-sized Enterprises (SMMEs) are critical for the economic and social development of emerging markets. For South Africa to resolve its high rate of unemployment and to alleviate poverty, a sustainable and supportive environment needs to be created to facilitate small business survival and growth, and to ensure increased job creation. SMME funding is a critical component of this growth.
Access to finance is one of the primary challenges for start-ups and small-to-medium businesses in the country, and one that needs urgent attention. The purpose of the report is to map the landscape of providers and seekers of SMME funding in the country and to identify opportunities to access finance, challenges and potential solutions thereof, to promote increased funding success in this vital sector.
“Our aim for this report is to build an understanding of the SMME funding opportunities in South Africa. Having been in the SME space for a number of years, we are very keen to change the narrative around transformation and identify proper solutions that can assist in the growth of the South African economy, whilst crafting opportunities and best practices to guide the way forward.”, says Israel Noko, CEO of NPI Governance Consulting.
The report looks into unconventional ways that entrepreneurs are able to seek funding and provides a comprehensive directory of private equity funds that offer financial assistance to SMMEs in various sectors including Mining, ICT, Tourism, Agriculture, and FMCG among others.
The SMME Funding Report is available here for download. NPI Governance Consulting welcomes organisations and companies of different sizes, industries and sectors to engage with us to find solutions to grow their companies.
