The Skills Development element measures the extent to which employers carry out the initiatives designed to develop the competencies of Black employees and Black people internally and externally. In line with the Skills Development Act 97 of 1998, NPI espouses the following:

·        Skills audit coordination

·        Learnership sourcing and implementation

·        Disabilities integration and advisory
