As Chief Operations Officer at NPI Governance Consulting, Portia has a keen interest in the strategic application of Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (“B-BBEE”), especially being a part of an authentic economic transformation of South Africa. Portia’s experience has focused on developing and executing strategies which would enable businesses to better position themselves in the market, and develop partnerships with companies and organisations that want to implement “business-sense” management control, skills development and BEE strategies.
Portia has been involved in various organisations specialising in blending unique B-BBEE strategies that impact and enhance HR strategies. She has been instrumental in creating and implementing legacy programs that speak to sustainability and growth of organisations. In addition to handling formulation and implementation of BEE strategies, she has been instrumental in advising EXCO members and boards of directors with respect to B-BBEE impacts to business growth and market competitiveness. Having worked with a number of organisations (Multinationals, Listed and Privately Owned) combined headcount of 7000 people, advised and implemented strategic HR programs and practices that contributed to BEE compliance and built great relations with various stakeholders within the HR and Transformation space.
